6/11: With the debut of the new map, expeditions to explore new areas will be limited. To encourage group exploration, only one proposal will be accepted every two weeks. ICly, exploration of new areas is too dangerous for the Council to allow multiple forays simultaneously. Additionally, you may not lead more than one expedition if you've already done one.

Players may request information for their own plots here. Players are highly encouraged to plan their plots using the Plotting comm first. Groups seeking events should elect a single player to act as the primary plot contact. We also strongly recommend keeping the number of involved players smaller or breaking larger plots into multiple logs to aid in log completion.

The following information is for player plots with multiple people:

The moderators will respond to the post after reviewing the request. If approved, the mod team will respond to the request with an approval, and send a private message to the journal used to request the event with a basic outline of what will happen, what will be encountered, and what rewards will become available to the characters upon completion of the plot. The requesting player will have the power to move the plot along in the actual log, and run any NPCs that may be necessary. This responsibility can be shared among the other players at their discretion, the moderators will not typically run any of these plots. However, we do reserve the right to take over a plot if characters are getting close to a major plot point we wanted to unveil, and we also reserve the right to ask questions and request clarification of plots, as well as deny them if we don't feel they're appropriate or properly presented. We will, however, do our best to work with everyone so they can move their plots to a satisfying conclusion.

When the plot log has been completed, reply to the plot approval with a link to the finished log. The moderators will then respond with the full rewards (which can include extra levels, resources, special items, and the ability to bond with Pokémon, among other things). Rewards will not be granted until the log is finished.

Open Sidequests:

The following are open sidequests that can be embarked upon by all players. Players are responsible for setting them up and completing them as any normal player plots, but these will potentially help advance the plot and open up new areas and Pokemon. Sidequest objectives may also tie into proposed player plots, depending on the circumstances.

Requested Plot: Expedition to the Caverns, with the goal of finding an iron mine.
If approved, Jade will make a post over the network tomorrow requestion volunteers for an expedition. Funding for equipment will be provided by Zarvora, and Jade will dip into Ranger stores as well. A log post will be set up for pre-expedition mingling and the expedition itself.
The group will stay together until they reach the caverns, at which point they'll separate into two smaller groups to cover a wider area of ground. They'll be relying upon knowledge gained from books as well as Steel-type Enlightened (hi, Banzu) to try locate the mine. Or other methods may crop up in the log, who knows!

(P.S. if the plot is approved, is the PM with the outline meant to be kept a secret or can I post it for all and sundry to see?)

Requested Plot: This would be an approximately one log plot of Rise getting trapped in a closed-off section of the Old City along with a lot of also-trapped panicking wild Pokémon. Rise will call for help via Warp Band and as people are trying to find her, discover her Enlightened powers (ESP and telepathy) to help them get there. When found, there would be a fight between the rescuers and wild Pokémon, at least until someone realizes that the wilds are just panicking for the same reason the human is and finds a way to get everyone out. At some point in the end there, I'd like Rise to bond with a wild Ralts who got thrown down in there the same way she did.

Requested Plot: As stated in her application along with being mentioned in this question, Quinn grew up with great interaction with a Rufflet that she named Valor, who lived around Union for a short period of time. Because of Quinn discovering her Enlightened abilities late and lacking a Warp Band as a child, she never got the chance to officially bonded with the Pokémon even if they became good friends before Valor flew into the forest.

Today, rumors spread of a lone bird Pokémon roaming around the woods that matched Valor's description from Quinn's memories and notes, which will lead Quinn to personally search to confirm the rumors and find her childhood friend.

If the plot is approved, there will be a post where Quinn will ICly state about her descending into the wilderness for long periods of time to search for this Rufflet while Edan serves as being a messenger to give her superiors her daily Ranger work during the search. She will keep in touch with whoever contacts her on the Warp Band, but most of her time will out in the woods searching for Valor with her current Pokémon. As this will be an Intensive Search, she will gain no levels for this week (Week 4).

The plot reward will be Valor the Rufflet, whose level and if it's shiny/not shiny will up to mod decision.

Requested Plot: Training camp for potential new rangers! Erwin Smith has decided that with the appearance of hostile outsiders, now is the time to try to recruit more Rangers to help with the cause.

Overall think this but with less fine shirtless Shang (I know it's very sad). I'm guessing this will take place near the outpost or maybe up in some secluded area if you guys have any suggestions. If approved, it will last about a week (starting this weekend or next pending on RL stuff for the muns) IC timewise and we will throw up an OOC post so people can sign up either as Trainees or Instructors, as well as come up with different training exercises to administer to these poor recruits and/or antics for the trainees to get into. Anything that is considered extreme, a discovery or involve a lot of pokemon will be sent to be mod approved of course.

Also this is not completely necessary for the plot, but I'm also asking permission if it's possible to have access to a swarm of Beedrills or any other pokemon type that can be found in large groups to use in one of the exercises. If this not feasible, that is perfectly understandable!

basically I want to have a greenlight for Jeff talking about his Pokedex idea and the idea that information about it and the need for data collectors and etc buzzing around the city. it's not really an event since duh that'd be a little boring but so far i'd like to know that i can start this + how long IC/OOCly it should probably take for even the prototype to be made realistically. Jeff's Engineering skills are still pretty low but he has been fixing Warp Bands and all sorts of other stuff at his dad's shop since he was little so maybe that could be taken into consideration? also the fact he'll have dr eggman helping him. tl;dr i'd like a green light and a time frame please!

Requested Plot: I was wondering if it would be possible for Squid Girl to swim out into the ocean a ways offshore from the beach south of Union looking around for any nearby islands or places like that. Ostensibly, she would be doing so out of a combination of boredom and the sudden impulse to build a secret base for her and her team to hang out on, but in an OOC sense I thought it might be a neat little exploration log that could potentially result in opening up a new area for players to explore and/or bond with some new and different Pokemon. I'm fully expecting some danger if she does this, and I'm fine with that as long as she doesn't actually get eaten by Sharpedos - it is pretty stupid going out into uncharted waters alone, after all. But yeah, let me know if this is a thing that might be feasible, since it's an idea I had recently and kind of like.

Requested Plot: Not sure this is big enough to call a "plot" but... Apollo has a flier that can carry him now, and inevitably this will lead to a "show me how high you can go" situation. Assuming Tropius can get a good height (and from what I read here a super-extreme height wouldn't be needed) Apollo will be in awe of how tiny Union really is compared to the world and will transmit the view over the network. The questions are how high can a Tropius fly and what new exploration targets will he see that are off the edge of the current map? If it turns out that Tropius can't fly high enough to fill him with awe at the view I'll hold off on this until his Talonflame is available.

Requested Plot: As mentioned in Sollux's application and his acceptance notice, he's working on an apiculture networking system using Beedrills as the hive mind powering the system. This is sort of vaguely defined at the moment, but I'd like to start pinning it down so he can have something specific to work toward. As mentioned before, my current idea involves insect pheromones and technology hauled up from either Old City, the Ruins, or both. I'm thinking what we'd want to go with here is something like a transmitter that's capable of coordinating Pokemon by interfacing with their thoughts somehow.

Sollux isn't an Engineer himself since his area of specialty is basically restricted to old tech, but he probably knows enough about it to rig something up by normal means. I'll likely pull actual Engineer characters in once I have some more specific guidelines on what he needs, but that's basically why I'm posting this here now - to find out what the required resources are and how he'll need to go about starting to collect them. He's already got a Beedrill colony he's raising, so what he presumably needs now are parts and a way to assemble them into something that works.

Sorry if this is all a little vague right now, but I wanted to start making strides toward hashing this out so I can have him actually work on it soon.

Requested Plot: Banzu will be heading down to the Old City for the first time, both to collect salvage (particularly lead or other heavy metals for use as ammunition) and to see if he can find information on or examples of old technology that might have been overlooked by previous delvers. In support of this he will be looking for unmapped passages, which he won't inform anyone of until he doesn't think that there isn't anything important left to find in them (so if this opens up a new area no one might know about it right away). He won't be taking too many risks and will be marking his path constantly to ensure that he doesn't get lost, but this is his first time delving, so...

As a result of his explorations, I'd like him to find information on or an example of a vehicle capable of safely carrying a fair number of passengers to the Tropical Island and exploring the nearby ocean. I'd like this vehicle to be build-able with Union's current level of manufacturing technology and be highly inconvenient to operate without some kind of port (such as the water near the shore being too shallow), as I'd like to follow up this plot with a larger-scale plot(s) to construct said port along with the vehicle itself. While Banzu would prefer that this vehicle operate using some kind of machinery rather than sails or the like, I leave that up to your judgement, along with its exact capabilities, how long it will take to understand how to create the vehicle from the information or example recovered, how long it will take to build it, what materials beyond what Union currently has will be required, and so on. My overall goal with this is to spur Banzu to set up a transportation service, allowing characters without large Water-types to reach the Tropical Island (for a fee of course) and opening up the possibility of finding any other islands nearby and exploring up and down the coast a ways (also for a fee; he's not going to be giving people free rides here).

Requested Plot: With proof of people outside Union, and trainers roaming further and further away from the city, Kaido wants to investigate the ruins in the swamp before too many people explore them. His goal is to investigate the disappearance of two researchers a couple of years ago (Atsuro's parents), determine whether they actually made it to the ruins, and whether there's a chance of them still being alive. He's going to go as deep as possible, looking specifically for any evidence of research having taken place: camps, leftover materials, notes, anything. He's hoping he won't find any evidence of dead bodies.

Requested Plot: Asemu is going to cross the canyon and explore beyond it. His Tropius will enable him to deal with almost any Pokémon on the canyon floor, and it may be possible for it to carry him over it entirely (I can work with either). Either way, he's strong enough to cross to the other side of the canyon and he knows it, so that means exploring time!

As a note, the earliest he can start is next Saturday (3/29), since he's doing an intensive search of the Scorched Forest this week. Just thought I'd get this up in advance!

Requested Plot: Ezreal and Lux are going over to the island for some tropical vacationing and also to get some objectives accomplished. Ezreal was commissioned to build a number of Good Rods for the Survey Corps, so he's going to be trying to set up a small basecamp and workshop on the beach where there is ample material for Good Rods. For the major legwork, we're going to have a log between Ezreal and Lux to gather and start working on it, we're fine with someone running it or doing it ourselves. The end result will likely be making a small dwelling and starting to gather wood.

Requested Plot: Squid Girl will be discovering and bonding with a Trubbish soon. Considering her whole backstory revolves around gaining Shifter powers due to being enraged at ocean pollution, I'd like to do something more significant with this if possible.

I'm thinking what might be cool is turn her bonding into a really smelly Pied Piper sort of thing where she uses her Trubbish to attract the others living in the ocean surrounding Union and leads them all to a new home, maybe in Old City or the Ruins or something. Some place without water.

My general thought is that they could then be replaced as the Rare in that area by something else, and now be available for bonding in a different area. If this involves leveling the Trubbish up for a bit before she can start working on this, that's fine, I just really wanted to get the idea out there so I can start building toward whatever will be required.
