-The technological level and general cultural standards of Union at the moment most closely resembles that of the Western world immediately following the Industrial Revolution. This is not a strict rule, but may be used as a general guideline for imagining the status of the city. The major exceptions, of course, are the existence of things like radio and the Warp Bands.
-Crime within the city of Union is low, and there are no known crime syndicates. The society is rigid and punishes crime harshly, although there is no death penalty. The most severe punishment is exile, which serves a similar purpose.
-While the Enlightened are considered exempt from some of the more exacting rules within Union due to the roles they can serve, humans and Enlightened are generally treated as equals under the law. Friction may exist amongst individuals, but on paper, Union does not grant special favors to the average Enlightened individual.
-High-class families are an exception. As they all claim to be descended from the Savior, the majority of these families are Enlightened and are capable of exerting their leverage to gain special privileges. These families are generally known throughout Union, though few people call them out on their behavior.
-Starter Pokémon are generally found as semi-domesticated within Union and are often used for companionship or shared labor. Many citizens of Union may bond with some of these Pokémon as they grow up.
-All Pokémon that are not bonded with humans (including those in Union) have low-level intelligence about on average with a normal animal, although this varies. Any individual of any given species may be as intelligent as those commonly seen in other Pokémon medium. Thus, some species of Normal-types and Flying-types are consumed within Union, but in general, meat is very much a luxury. The majority of meals will be vegetation-based.
