To anyone reading this: After further discussion, this is our decision about Ditto Shifters.
We have reversed our decision about favored forms; they will not be a thing. Ditto Shifters will be able to choose to either copy humans or Pokemon.
If they choose to copy humans, Ditto Shifters will be able to copy the targets' Enlightened abilities and voice if the target is present. If the target is not present, the Ditto Shifter will be able to take on only the form of the target, and their voice will be the tell that they are an imposter.
If they choose to copy Pokemon, Ditto Shifters will be able to copy the targets' moves and abilities if the target is present. If the target is not present, the Ditto Shifter will only be able to take on the shape of the target and will be unable to use any moves apart from basic biting/clawing/kicking. Additionally, if the target is not present, the transformation will be incomplete and the Ditto Shifter will retain some physical properties such as mass and density. For instance, the Ditto Shifter, upon transformation into a Snorlax, would be the shape and size of the Snorlax, but would be unable to crush anything simply by rolling around.
All copies will be slightly frailer/weaker than the real thing due to the fact that Dittos in-game cannot copy HP. This doesn't mean that we expect Ditto Shifters to automatically lose to anything they fight, of course, simply that this is something to keep in mind when playing.
Ditto Shifters will only be able to transform into humans/Pokemon they have seen before or accurate pictorial representations.
