Regarding occupation type things, what about an offshoot or a slight combination of two, like a Ranger/Delver deal? The character I'm working on an AU for would be more of a delver by trade, but I think traveling outside of Union would be more her thing. Bigger risk equals better payoff and some such. She'd be going for things and resources instead of Pokemon information, or maybe even hunting for specific types of stuff at someone's request, whatever gets her paid.
