...That's probably the most apt description to be given. With boundless effort and enthusiasm, it sets itself to any task that's placed before it. It's just unfortunate that boundless effort and enthusiasm aren't enough to actually... carry out those tasks. To its credit, it's not exactly incompetent more than it suffers incredibly bad luck.
Once it was asked to watch the house and Thorin probably came home to a flock of wild Wingulls pooping all over everything and Riolu passed out from running into a table while chasing them.
