Fennekin had been secure in its self-image until the visitors from Union passed through the Gigan Badlands on their way to tour the city (before the war). Upon seeing a Vulpix with a beautiful collection of tails, it became self-conscious of the beauty of its own tail and will try any concoction or care method, no matter how farfetch'd far-fetched, that it hears will increase its tail's luster and beauty. Easily flattered, but also easily discouraged.
